Mommy why?
(This amazing picture was taken by HairThingz photographer Darren Conerly of Conerly Photography. He is so good, if you are in the area go see him!)
Here are the songs he wrote for Alexis and Avery. He wrote, sang, and did all the instruments, except for drums. Our good friend Derek played those. I'm pretty proud of my hubby.

Our booth at the Tokyo International Gift Show
OhayĆ gozaimasu!
I can't wait for our relationship with Japan to grow more, as I am aching to go back and see Japan again. It would be wonderful to see all my friends who are still living there. Dewa mata.
We are so excited to have our product in Japan. My husband and I are very fond of Japan, we used to travel to Japan frequently before having kids. So to see HairThingz in Japan makes my heart sing!

We are forward thinking...
In our search for a pony tail holder that would stay put and do things no other hair accessory could do, we had a few ground rules that guided our product development.
First, we wanted a product that could be kept out of landfills. HairThingz don't wear out, or break. You should be able to use them for years! If, for whatever the reason, you are done using your HairThingz, you can put them in the plastic recycling bin and they can be recycled into something new.* Traditional fabric and synthetic pony tail holders go right to a landfill when they stretch out and no longer work. That was not something I wanted my children to inherit. We chose plastic, because of its long term durability, and because it is a product that can be recycled.
It had to be made in the USA. More than that, we decided it had to be packaged in the USA as well. This was very important to me. Sure, we could have it packaged overseas for a little less cost, but why? Just to make a few extra pennies? No, thank you. I love the USA. I have always wanted to have a business that employed Americans.

And thus, Hair Thingz were invented! I hope you and your family enjoy them as much as my family does.
*Not all community curbside recyclers accept LLDPE plastic at this time. But it is recyclable!

How to use Hair Thingz
A simple "how to" sheet for the candy-cane style (our most popular), and V-clip (I wear all the time).
I love the V-clip style! You can layer up to three colors and splay them out for a fun new look.
Another fun way to use V-clips, above using the three colors twisted around each other then place in hair using the same V-cap method as you would for one. Such as below.

Welcome to HairThingz blog
Purple and while HairThingz on Miss Alexis.
This is the place to go to find out how to do all those fabulous hair do's. HairThingz is my answer to problems with my twin girls' hair. We come from a long line of not much hair, and any hair band we used would pull out so much of our hair that I had to find a solution. My husband and I came up with HairThingz®. We ran them through the testers, expempli gratia our four children and myself, and came up with the final product that stays in your hair and does not tear it out.
Fast forward to today and we have a beautiful product that stay's put! Don't believe me? I tested these bad guys out on 28 mile runs, 2 mile swims, and 50 mile bike rides. They stay. The best part, so did my hair when I was done! The only problem you will have is deciding which colors to pick. This blog will include "how-to's" using HairThingz, and our journey to get HairThingz and our other ideas to market. So sit back, grab some coffee and a sense of humor and follow me on our journey.
White HairThingz with a flower clip on top. On Miss Avery.
